This LIVE broadcast of the second reading session of Mones Razzaz’s "Jumaa Qifari" comes to you from the house of the late Jordanian writer. Lead by Samar Dudin, a group of seven young volunteers meet to read excerpts of the novel and discuss ideas for publishing the novel in seven selected stations in Jabal Luweibdeh in Amman.
Mones Road is a project proposed by Samar Dudin as part of ’Sentences on the banks and other activities’.
Mones Razzaz’s novel "Jumaa Al-Qiffari" is published throughout a neighbourhood in the city of Amman. Each station-chapter is conceived as a literary and visual experience, whereby the novel is discovered at the same time as the city by the viewer-reader. Every chapter is interpreted within the context of the city as correspondences between the life of the author and his writing and famous or anonymous places are mapped out. This original work, presented in the form of an experimental publication, straddles the literary and visual art. The urban space is used for reviving the narrative act ; it is established as a place of encounters, emotions, exploration and discovery. A workshop on creative writing and reading, using the novel as a point of departure, takes place every Thursday, while a radio program is produced by R22 art radio.
